How do I manually add a Husky BW/color printer on a Mac?

  1. Click the the Apple logo on the top left corner of your screen and select System Preferences…

  2. Select Printers & Scanners on the second row, seventh icon to the right.
  3. In the Printers & Scanners window, click the plus (+) symbol near the bottom left corner.

  4. The Add window will open. Select IP.

  5. To add the printer enter or select the following information. You can change the Name and Location to anything you would like.

    Husky BW
    Address: print.mtu.edu
    Protocol: Line Printer Daemon - LPD
    Queue: husky-bw
    Name: husky-bw

    Husky Color
    Address:
    print.mtu.edu
    Protocol: Line Printer Daemon - LPD
    Queue: husky-color
    Name: husky-color

  6. Next, we will select the driver you downloaded earlier. In the Use: dropdown menu select Select Software...

  7. Search "5865" in the Printer Software window and select “Xerox WorkCentre 5865, 3.123.0” for Husky-BW, or Search 7855 in the Printer Software window and select “Xerox WorkCentre 7855, 3.123.0” for Husky-Color. Click OK.
  8. The window will close. Click Add.
  9. In the Printers & Scanners window, make sure husky-bw or husky-color is selected and select Options & Supplies…
  10. A new window will open. Select Options. First, select Office Finisher from the Finisher dropdown menu, then select Installed from Hole Punch Module and click OK.
  11. A new window will open. Select Options. First, select Office Finisher LX from the Finisher dropdown menu, then select 2 and 3 Hole Punch Unit from Hole Punch Module. Click OK.
